In addition to the legal aspects shown above, you need
to have some general knowledge of local and down island
fees and requirements. Here are the most commonly addressed
subjects:
- Moorings in the National Park (US Virgin Islands)
are limited to 30 nights annually. Moorings are paid
for by check or credit card at the National Park Office
or at convenient check points throughout the park.
- Moorings in the BVI marine park can be purchased
at the time of check in at Immigration and Customs.
- A Cruising permit is required for all cruising
in The British Virgin Islands - IN SEASONAL RATES:
(December 1- April 30). All non-recorded Charter Boats
- $4.00 per person per day. OUT OF SEASON RATES: (May
1 - November 30). All non-recorded Charter Boats -
$4.00 per person per day.
- There is an annual permit you may purchase ($800
at this time) which gives you a discount on the cruising
permit fees.
